Indications

Combigan is a prescription medication used to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in people with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.

Combigan is a combination of two drugs: brimonidine tartrate and timolol maleate. Brimonidine tartrate is a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that works by reducing the amount of aqueous humor produced in the eye, while timolol maleate is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist that works by reducing the amount of aqueous humor produced and increasing the amount that drains out of the eye.

Use and Dosage

The recommended dose is one drop of the solution in the affected eye(s) twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart. The dosage may be adjusted based on the response to treatment and the side effects experienced by the patient.

Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions on how to use Combigan and inform your healthcare provider of any other medical conditions or medications you may be taking.

Prescription eye drops should always be used with caution, and any questions or concerns regarding their use should be discussed with a healthcare professional.
