Description

What Is Glyxambi Used For

Glyxambi drug class are SGLT2 sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors and DPP4 dipeptidyl peptidase; it is a combination medicine of empagliflozin and linagliptin. This combination medicine regulates high blood sugar in type 2 diabetes adjunct with proper diet and exercise. Sexual problems, loss of limbs, nerve problems, blindness, and kidney problems can be prevented by controlling blood sugar levels; they can also lessen the risks of stroke and heart attacks. These two medications work together; Empagliflozin increases the removal of sugar by the kidney. While linagliptin increases the metabolic hormone called incretin to help control blood sugar, it increases insulin release by the pancreas after a meal. It can also decrease the amount of sugar produced by the liver. Adults with type 2 diabetes and have known cardiovascular disease can also be prescribed this medicine to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death. Your doctor may also prescribe Glyxambi and metformin to be your diabetes medication to provide additional control in lowering blood sugar levels.

This medication is not intended for type 1 diabetes and is not a prescription for weight loss. However, Glyxambi weight loss is tested in some clinical trials and shows that this medication can reduce 3% of the weight on average on some people.
