Indications

Celluvisc is a brand name for eye drops that contain the lubricant carmellose sodium.

Celluvisc is used as a substitute for tears to treat the symptoms of dry eye, such as soreness, burning, and discomfort caused by eye dryness.

Use and Dosage

Side Effects

  • Change in eyesight, eye pain, or very bad eye irritation

Cautions

If you are allergic to carboxymethylcellulose; any part of carboxymethylcellulose; or any other drugs, foods, or substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.

This medicine may interact with other drugs or health problems.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all your drugs (prescription or OTC, natural products, vitamins) and health problems. You must check to make sure that it is safe for you to take carboxymethylcellulose with all your drugs and health problems. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any drug without checking with your doctor.

Do not take carboxymethylcellulose by mouth. If carboxymethylcellulose is put in the mouth or swallowed, call a doctor or poison control center right away.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to get pregnant. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks of using carboxymethylcellulose while you are pregnant.

Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. You will need to talk about any risks to your baby.
