Description

Mezavant is used to treat ulcerative colitis, proctitis, and proctosigmoiditis by affecting the substances in the body that cause inflammation, tissue damage and diarrhea.

Mezavant should be stored at room temperature in an area that is protected from heat and moisture.

Before taking Mezavant, let your doctor know if any of the following apply to you: you have a stomach condition called pyloric stenosis; you have a history of allergy to sulfasalazine (Azulfidine ); you have a heart condition such as congestive heart failure; you have kidney disease; or if you have liver disease.
