Indications
Prevalite is cholesterol medication used to lower high cholesterol levels. The medication may also be used to treat itching caused when the bile ducts in your gallbladder are blocked.

Uses and Dosage

- Mix Prevalite into 2 to 6 ounces of water or another non-carbonated beverage
- You may also mix the powder into a thin soup, crushed pineapple, or applesauce

- Most adults start by using 5.5 grams or one scoop of Prevalite once or twice daily
- Maintenance doses range from 8 to 16 grams divided daily
- Adults should not take more than 24 grams a day
- Most take Prevalite twice a day, some doctors may prescribe up to 6 doses per day

Side Effects

Cautions

This Prevalite powder may contain phenylalanine. Discuss with your doctor before using this medication if you have phenylketonuria.

- Penicillin G
- Phenobarbital
- Phenylbutazone
- Propranolol

- Thyroid medication like levothyroxine
- Warfarin
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Prevalite. You may require more vitamin supplements during pregnancy or while breastfeeding when taking Prevalite. Follow all your doctor’s advice and directions concerning your treatment plan.
