Resultz is a medication used to treat head lice.

Isopropyl myristate a pediculicide that kills head lice. When applied for 10 minutes, Resultz eradicates lice without the use of neurotoxic products like other treatment options. The medication has a high cure rate, especially after a second application 7 days following the first.

Dosage and Administration

The amount of Resultz used may vary depending on the individual being treated. Follow all your healthcare provider’s directions and read packaging labels carefully to ensure the best results from your head lice treatment. Do not use more or less than prescribed more often than recommended.

  • Apply Resultz to dry hair, make sure you fully coat your scalp
  • Work the medication into your hair and scalp
  • Leave Resultz for 10 minutes
  • After the 10 minutes, rinse off thoroughly
  • Avoid contact with your eyes and lips during application
  • After you rinse your hair, comb wet hair with a fine nit comb
  • Thoroughly clean towels, clothing, and any other items that may have been in contact with lice with warm water
  • Apply Resultz once more 7 days after your first application to kill any hatched eggs
  • Your healthcare provider may recommend that you use it a final time 14 days after the first treatment
  • Store at room temperature away from children and pets

Allergic Reaction

Do not use Resultz if you are allergic to Isopropyl or any of the other conditioner ingredients. Speak to your healthcare provider if you notice any of the following signs of an allergic reaction:

  • Hives, itching
  • Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Trouble breathing


  • Do not get Resultz into your eyes or mouth while applying. If contact occurs with your eyes, rinse them right away with water.
  • Do not apply Resultz to skin that is cut or scratched.
  • Resultz may cause irritation and itching for a few days after treatment; consult your healthcare provider if irritation persists.
  • To avoid reinfection, thoroughly clean your house and wash any items that may have come into contact with lice using warm water. Dry bath towels in the dryer for at least 30 minutes. Wash clothing that may have come into contact with lice also using hot water or have them dry-cleaned, this includes hats and scarves.
  • Tell your healthcare provider about your medical history before using Resultz.
  • Ask your healthcare provider before using Resultz while pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Tell your healthcare provider about all the medications you take, including over the counter medicines, to avoid adverse drug interactions.

How long do you leave Resultz in your hair?

It is recommended that you leave Resultz in your hair for 10 minutes before thoroughly rinsing it out. This helps ensure the medication has enough time to kill the lice on your scalp. After rinsing, comb your wet hair with a nit comb to remove the dead lice and nits.

How often can you use Resultz?

Resultz is designed to be used twice, although sometimes your healthcare provider may recommend a third application. 7 days after your first treatment you should apply Resultz again to kill any new lice hatched from eggs. If recommended a third round, you should apply it 14 days after your first application to ensure your infestation is cured.
