Indications

Sandomigran DS is used to prevent and treat migraine headaches.

Pizotifen is a serotonin and tryptamine antagonist that inhibits certain chemicals in your brain to prevent blood vessels from widening and altering your pain threshold. When taken daily, Sandomigran DS reduces the severity and frequency of migraine headache attacks.

Dosage and Administration

  • Take with or without food
  • Take your doses at the same times each day
  • Adults and children over 12 usually start by taking 0.5mg daily at night

  • Doses can range from 1 to 6mg daily
  • Do not take more than 3 mg in a single dose

  • Itching, blistering skin
  • Rash

Cautions

  • Do not use Sandomigran DS if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within 14 days or if you have a stomach or intestinal blockage.
  • Before taking Sandomigran DS, tell your healthcare provider if you have ever had any of the following conditions:
    • Glaucoma
    • Difficulty urinating
    • Kidney or liver problems
    • Diabetes or heart problems
