Stiolto Respimat Inhaler

This medication is a prescription medication used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) on a long-term (daily) basis (COPD). Two diseases are involved in COPD: chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

This medication isn’t meant to be used for COPD-related respiratory problems that appear out of nowhere. It’s not allowed to be used to treat asthma.

Medication forms and strengths

This medication is divided into two sections: Respimat Inhaler (device) and a Respimat cartridge contains the medication (tiotropium and olodaterol)

Before using the inhaler for the first time, you must first insert the cartridge into the inhaler.

On the manufacturer’s website, under “How to use Stiolto,” there are step-by-step instructions.

Dosage for COPD maintenance

Two puffs of Stiolto are taken once a day to treat (COPD).

Two puffs give a total of 5 mcg of tiotropium and 5 mcg of olodaterol.

This is just the most widely recommended dose used. However, ensure to follow your doctor’s dose and instructions.

Is Stiolto Respimat a Steroid

This medication does not contain any steroids.

This medication, on the other hand, is made up of two active ingredients:

  1. Tiotropium is an anticholinergic with a lengthy half-life (LAMAs)
  2. Olodaterol is a beta2-agonist with a lengthy half-life (LABAs)

Both LAMAs and LABAs work to relax the smooth muscle in your airways over time. As a result, they enhance lung function, shortness of breath, overall health, and COPD exacerbations.

This medication comes in the form of an inhaler called Stiolto Respimat. (The inhaler is known as Respimat.)

Once a day, this medicine is breathed (puffs). Each puff contains 2.5 micrograms (mcg) of tiotropium and 2.5 mcg of olodaterol.
