Indications

Uceris is an anti-inflammatory medication used to treat mild to moderate active ulcerative colitis (UC).

Budesonide is a corticosteroid drug that inhibits your body’s immune response to reduce inflammation in your bowels and digestive tract. These actions allow Uceris to promote remission of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis and relief from symptoms such as pain and diarrhea.

Dosage and Administration

The dose of Uceris that is prescribed will vary depending on the individual and severity of the UC being treated. Follow all your healthcare provider’s instructions and read packaging labels carefully to ensure the best therapeutic response during treatment with this corticosteroid. Do not change your dose or suddenly stop taking this medication on your own.

  • Swallow tablets whole, do not crush or chew
  • Take in the morning with or without food
  • You may need to alter your dose if you have a surgery, become ill, or are under stress
  • Most adults take 9mg once daily
  • Treatment may last up to 8 weeks
  • Do not stop taking Uceris without speaking with your healthcare provider to taper your dose
  • Tell your healthcare provider if your symptoms worsen or do not improve
  • Store at room temperature away from children and pets
