Indications

Vemlidy is an antiviral medication used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults and children over the age of 12.

Tenofovir alafenamide is an HBV nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor that targets hepatitis B viral cells in your liver. The inhibitory action of Vemlidy allows it to prevent the spread of HBV cells by inhibiting their growth and reducing the amount of virus in your body. This medication may also improve your liver function.

Dosage and Administration

The dose of Vemlidy that is prescribed will vary depending on the individual being treated. Follow all your healthcare provider’s instructions and read packaging labels carefully to ensure the best response from treatment. Do not change your dose on your own without speaking with your healthcare provider.

  • Swallow tablets whole
  • Take at the same time each day with food
  • If you are on dialysis, take your dose after dialysis on days you receive dialysis
  • Adults and children over 12 usually take 25mg once daily
  • Do not suddenly stop taking Vemlidy unless directed to do so by your healthcare provider
