Cautions

Do not use Veregen if you have a week immune system or an allergy to green tea.

Tell your healthcare provider if you have human papillomavirus (HPV), HIV, AIDS, or a weakened immune system from another disease or from taking certain medications.

Veregen will not cure genital or perianal warts or stop you from spreading them to others through contact.

Veregen is not designed to treat warts caused by HPV.

Avoid getting Veregen ointment in your eyes, nose, mouth, rectum, vagina, or urethra.

Avoid having anyone come into contact with treated skin areas after applying Veregen.

You should avoid exposing treated skin areas to sunlight or artificial UV rays.

Do not use other medicine or skin products on skin areas treated with Veregen unless directed to do so by your healthcare provider.

Before engaging in intercourse, wash off the ointment because Veregen could weaken the latex of a condom and cause it to break.

It is unknown how Veregen will affect an unborn baby if used during pregnancy. Tell your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or plan to become so during treatment.

Ask your healthcare provider before breastfeeding while using Veregen because it may or may not pass into your breastmilk.

Do not administer Veregen ointment to anyone younger than 18 without advice from your healthcare provider.

Veregen should not be used for longer than 16 weeks unless your healthcare provider directs you to do so. Continue using the ointment as prescribed until your warts have cleared.

FAQ

How long does it take for Veregen to work?

Veregen ointment is quickly absorbed into your skin upon application and starts affecting your genital or perianal warts. The anti-infective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidative properties of this medication may take some time to reach their full effect. Most users see improvement within a week and have their warts clear up after 2 or 3 weeks of use three times daily.

Does Veregen cause more warts?

Veregen is designed to help clear your infection to improve your wart condition. The ointment absorbs into affected skin areas to reduce inflammation and kill infective cells, but this does not cure your condition. You may develop new warts during treatment or after discontinuation, but the medicated ointment itself should not cause warts.
