This medication is a drug that is used to treat the symptoms of heartburn, which is also termed acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is prescribed to relieve heartburn and to heal or maintain the healing of erosive esophagitis.

This medication is sold in Dexilant 60 mg and 30 mg once-daily, delayed-release capsules. It may be prescribed for up to 8 weeks, depending on the severity of gastrointestinal symptoms.
